Urban Barrier held its first offline event in London, marking its first direct meeting with European consumers since the brand began its market research the previous year.
The event gave the team an opportunity to hear skin concerns and skincare habits directly from local participants, building on insights gathered through earlier remote research. Attendees were invited to share their experiences with sensitivity, dryness and environmental stress on skin, alongside their current skincare routines.
"Talking with people in person surfaced details we hadn't picked up through surveys alone — small daily habits, specific environmental frustrations, the way people talk about their own skin," said a brand representative.
The insights gathered from the London event were later incorporated into the brand's product development process, including the addition of a dermatologist and biotech researcher as advisors to strengthen the scientific basis of its formulas.
Urban Barrier said this first meeting laid the groundwork for its continued presence in the European market, including a return visit to London the following year through an official pop-up store.
